Christmas at Ynyshir Hall

 Once owned by Queen Victoria, Ynyshir Hall is a perfect house for a really traditional Christmas! Every year, we hold a three day Christmas House party from the 24th to the 27th December. We decorate the house with the largest tree we can find and gather holly and ivy from the gardens to garland the stairs and fireplaces.
The house party is based on a very warm welcome, wonderful food and a most convivial atmosphere. There is no ‘organised entertainment’, you can spend the whole time curled up with a book in front of the fire, if that is what you choose! But, there are a whole host of things that you can choose to do.
Christmas Eve
We start with a Champagne cocktail party on Christmas Eve, where all our guests can meet and enjoy a gourmet meal, prepared by our award-winning team, headed by Shane Hughes, our Chef. We have always put great emphasis on fine food at Ynyshir, and over the years have established our cuisine amongst the very best in Britain. Christmas is Chef’s favourite time to spoil our guests and show off his skills. Small numbers mean very personal attention and all special dietary requirements can be catered for.
Christmas Day
Christmas Day starts with a tempting breakfast buffet, then time for a wander round the 14 acre gardens and 1000 acre Bird Reserve to work up an appetite.
We meet in the bar at 12noon for Champagne before lunch. We always have traditional turkey as an option, but with a more adventurous option for those who prefer.
Christmas cake with afternoon tea will be served in the afternoon (for those who can manage it!) then a scrumptious buffet in the evening - just in case anyone feels hungry, and to tempt those that don’t.
Boxing Day
On Boxing Day, most people enjoy walking, choosing from the countless options available. Perhaps along the wild beaches of Ynyslas, or up into the Cambrian hills and the mountains beyond. Or a joint effort to do the crossword or just enjoy a snooze in front of a roaring log fire.
But most return for a full afternoon tea with sandwiches and cakes, scones, jam and cream. Then another gourmet meal, designed to be a little lighter tonight.
27 December
A Bucks Fizz breakfast sends our guests home on the 27th with very special memories, and a few new friends.

Prices include all pre-dinner drinks, Champagne reception before Christmas lunch, all meals and food as described and accommodation for the three nights. The only extras are after dinner drinks and the wines chosen to accompany your meals.

Full payment in advance for the Christmas Package must be received prior to 1st December 2010; otherwise the amount will be taken from the card details given at the time of booking.
