Ynyshir Hailed as the Best Posted on 14/11/2008
Ynyshir Hall, north of Aberystwyth has been named as the best country house hotel in the UK and Ireland this week by the most trusted name in travel.
The international luxury travel guide Condé Nast Johansens announced the von Essen property as the ‘most excellent country house hotel’ in Great Britain and Ireland at the prestigious 2009 ‘Awards for Excellence’ held in a glamorous Knightsbridge location.
Condé Nast Johansens provides a comprehensive luxury guide to the some of the most exemplary hotels in the world. With over 400 of these exceptional properties in the UK and Ireland, Ynyshir Hall’s award positions the hotel as the ‘best of the best’ in the country house hotel market. The award was based upon responses from discerning guest nomination forms and survey reports and scrupulous regional inspector reports. According to Johansens Guide Ynyshir Hall is ‘An exceptional country house hotel with striking interiors and a unique enveloping atmosphere. It has evolved over the years in to a very special welcoming retreat.’
The award was met with jubilation by staff at the hotel. General Manager Joan Reen described her delight at winning the award by saying ‘This is a truly amazing accolade for the hotel to win. I have such an exceptional, dedicated and hard working team who really deserve this type of recognition. I am honored and delighted to be taking this award back to Wales with me.’
Ynyshir Hall’s award capped an exceptional evening for the von Essen collection of hotels with Ynyshir’s sister property, The Royal Crescent in Bath, winning the award for the ‘most excellent city hotel’.
