Sue Wilson, Ceredigion Sport’s Coach of the Year Posted on 04/10/2007
Just a note of congratulation to Sue Wilson, our accountant/gardener, who has just won Ceredigion Sport’s Coach of the Year.
You may wonder why our gardener has won this title, but she is a many skilled person! Multi tasking is a must in a small Hotel, and Sue is a prime example.
Sue started here as a housekeeper, over 10 years ago, then changed to part time gardening, assisting Ed, (who doubles as handyman) mainly looking after our kitchen garden and growing a whole host of wonderful produce for our Chef. She then took on the task of keeping the flower pots and borders full of colour throughout the year, and we have got 14 acres!!
Sue was also happy to stand in when we went away, and answer the phone and host the evening service.
Her background was as a PE Teacher, with a special interest in golf. (she played off scratch for a while). So she has been known to caddy and coach for our guests.
Her second job was as an outward bound instructor. So, as she has mountain guide qualifications, she has been roped in to taking guided walks for our walking weekends. Sue gave up her job at the outward bound centre this spring, and so she is now full time with us.
As we wouldn’t like her to get bored, and she had also done a book keeping course, we thought she could look after our accounts department as well!
