Visit to Beaune with the Grand Chef Relais & Chateaux. Posted on 14/06/2009
We were very excited and honoured when our Chef, Shane Hughes, was invited to the meeting of the Grand Chefs Relais & Chateaux this April. The association of Grand Chefs has amongst its members some of the most famous and renowned Chefs in the World including Michel Troisgros, Thomas Keller, Patrick O’Connell, Raymond Blanc, Heston Blumenthall, and the Roux Brothers to name but a few of the 160 Grand Chefs! Jaume Tapies, the new President of Relais & Chateaux, decided to encourage the young, ‘rising star’ Chefs of the Relais & Chateaux organisation World wide, by inviting them to take part in this very special meeting, held in the lovely town of Beaune, amidst the legendary vineyards of Burgundy.
It was a perfect occasion for Shane to meet many of his heroes and to make lasting friendships with Chefs who will mentor his future.
Next year, the 10 young chefs will be asked back to cook for the group, what a challenge!!
